This group of bearings range in size from 5/16” inner diameter (ID) to 7/16” ID. The 1605 series bearings have envelope dimensions of 5/16x29/32x5/16. The 1606 series bearings have envelope dimensions of 3/8x29/32x5/16 and, last but not least, the 1607 series bearings have envelope dimensions of 7/16x29/32x5/16. They are made of chrome steel.  The suffix “ZZ” signifies the bearing is shielded, with metal, on both sides. The suffix “2RS” signifies the bearing is sealed, with rubber, on both sides.  Generally speaking, shielded bearings are more practical in cleaner, high-speed applications, while the sealed bearings are more practical for applications of slower speeds and dirtier environments.  These bearings are self-lubricated, making them virtually maintenance free.

Looking for RS and Z Series?

These bearings are enclosed (ZZ or 2RS) on both sides.  However, some manufacturers, for example, stamp 6303 RS or 6303 Z, on BOTH sides of the bearing, therefore making the complete part number 6303 2RS and 6303 ZZ, respectively.  However, if your bearing only has 1 side enclosed, then you will in fact need a 6303-RS or a 6303-Z .  Please contact us at 305-573-9855 to place an order for these type of bearings.
